Palazzo Manzoni

A clinic that takes time.

Palazzo Manzoni is a multi-specialty surgical institute in Brescia where four teams of specialists do one thing well: they listen before they operate.

Palazzo Manzoni is a restored historic palazzo in central Brescia housing ophthalmology, plastic and aesthetic surgery, fertility, and vascular surgery and phlebology. Four specialty teams share a single operating philosophy: long consultations, the freedom to say no, one surgeon from first visit through follow-up, and complete transparency about cost and outcomes.

Why we exist

The choice to work differently

Most surgical clinics optimize for volume. Palazzo Manzoni optimizes for time.

When Dr. Andrea Russo founded the clinic, he chose to work inside a restored historic building in central Brescia rather than a modern medical facility. This was not an aesthetic choice. It was a statement: surgery doesn’t have to feel like a factory.

Every consultation here lasts as long as it takes. You’re not filling a time slot; you’re having a conversation with a surgeon who will see you through the entire journey—diagnosis, surgery, and follow-up. If surgery isn’t right for you, we say so. If a smaller intervention works better, we recommend it. If you’d benefit from a different specialty, we have it in the same building.

The Palazzo

A historic setting,
modern surgery

Palazzo Manzoni is housed in a restored historic palazzo at Via dei Mille 14, in central Brescia. The building is an early twentieth-century historic palazzo, recently brought to hospital standards through a complete restoration. It is within walking distance of Brescia’s city center and easily accessible from the surrounding Lombardy region.

The surgical suites meet hospital-grade standards for sterility, equipment, and patient safety. The operating rooms are equipped with [to be confirmed: specify Zeiss systems for ophthalmology, other technology for other specialties]. Consultations take place in private rooms designed to allow unhurried conversation. Recovery areas are separate from operating suites, with privacy and comfort as the standard.

The choice to locate a surgical center inside a restored palazzo—rather than a modern medical building—reflects the clinic’s philosophy: you come here to be understood, not processed.

The four specialties

What we do

The institute brings together four surgical specialties, each led by a senior specialist and supported by a dedicated team. Each discipline operates independently and in close collaboration with the others. For refractive surgery, Palazzo Manzoni is part of the Gruppo Refrattivo Italiano network. For plastic and aesthetic surgery, the clinic’s operating unit is Motta & Partners.

Speciality 1

Ophthalmology

Ophthalmology diagnostic suite at Palazzo Manzoni

Led by Dr. Andrea Russo and a team of five specialists.

We treat the full spectrum of vision correction: refractive errors (myopia, hyperopia, astigmatism, presbyopia) with laser surgery (SMILE, Femto-LASIK, PRK, Presbyond) or ICL phakic lens implantation; cataracts with standard or premium multifocal intraocular lenses; age-related macular degeneration; and dry eye disease. Every procedure is tailored to your eyes, your age, and your life.

Speciality 2

Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery

The plastic and aesthetic surgery team at Palazzo Manzoni

Led by Dr. Enrico Motta with Dr. Stefano Di Nonno, Dr. Nicolò Manuini, Dr. Luana Salvagni, Dr. Micaela Cortellessa, and Dr. Giorgia Tinti.

We treat the face (eyelids, nose, midface lift, lower face), the breast (augmentation, lift, reduction, revision), the body (liposuction, lipofilling, abdominoplasty, diastasis correction, thigh and arm lifts), and hair loss. We also provide aesthetic medicine (injectables, skin treatments) and dermatologic surgery. The philosophy: harmony, not transformation. A result the world reads as “you look well” rather than “you had work done.”

Speciality 4

Vascular Surgery & Phlebology

Led by Prof. Edoardo Cervi, with Dr. Fabio Viotti and Dr. Andrezza Silvia Guedes.

We treat varicose veins (ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy, endovenous laser), capillaries and reticular veins (transdermal laser, liquid sclerotherapy, cryosclerotherapy), hemorrhoids (foam endosclerosis, radiofrequency), and lipedema. Every plan starts from an ecocolordoppler map of your venous system.

Medicine that publishes

The clinic’s surgical teams are also regular contributors to Profilosalute and other medical publications read by thousands of patients and healthcare professionals across Italy.

Dr. Andrea Russo

has written extensively on ophthalmology, refractive surgery, cataract disease, and prevention, in a column that has taught generations of readers how to understand their own eyes.

Dr. Enrico Motta, Dr. Stefano Di Nonno, and Dr. Luana Salvagni

are the authors of the “Bellezza” column on plastic and aesthetic surgery, where they discuss realistic expectations, patient safety, and what responsible aesthetic practice looks like.

Publishing holds surgeons accountable. A clinic that writes is a clinic that thinks clearly about what it does, that calibrates its practice against the evidence, and that refuses the shortcuts of marketing.
